The time to visit Hoi An is between February and April, because during these months the climate is still quite warm, there is not much rain, and the town and its surroundings are ideal for quiet sightseeing and beach rest.
The city is flooded at times, especially during October and December, when there is a heavy rainy season resulting in rivers flooding.
Hoi An is neither always rainy, but from September to January it receives many showers, although it is considered the rainy season. The other half of the year is characterised by sunny and dry conditions.
Winter reaches its peak in January, with an average temperature range of 18-22°C (64-72°F), which is considered the coldest month in Hoi An. Still, it is not as stiff as that seen in other areas of the country.
