Which is better, Tokyo Disney or Shanghai Disney?
They suit different trips. Tokyo Disney Resort has two parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, so it suits a Disney-focused holiday of several park days. Shanghai has one park with large, modern attractions and pairs easily with a city break. If you want one or two Disney days plus a big-city stay, Disney Shanghai holidays are a strong choice.
Which month is best to visit Shanghai Disneyland?
Spring (around April and May) and autumn (around September to November) usually bring the most comfortable weather. Summer is hot and humid, with a rainy season in June and July. Chinese New Year, the start of May and Golden Week in early October are among the busiest times at the park.
Is Shanghai Disneyland the largest Disney park in the world?
No. Walt Disney World in Florida is far larger overall. Shanghai Disneyland does have the largest Disney castle ever built, the Enchanted Storybook Castle, which houses attractions, shops and a restaurant.

It depends on when you travel. British citizens with an ordinary passport can currently visit mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism, but the current scheme ends on 31 December 2026. If you are travelling after that date, check GOV.UK before you book, as you may need a visa unless the scheme is extended.
